The second horseman of the apocalypse is Limos, better known as Famine. She’s also betrothed to Satan. And she doesn’t like it. When Arik kisses her, he gets sent to hell to be tortured.
This is the second book in the the Lords of Deliverance branch of the Demonica series, and I didn’t like it as much as the first. There’s exactly one reason for this. I’m still into the whole averting-the-apocalypse thing and I like the idea that the four horsemen (one horsewoman) are trying to avert disaster and save themselves from going the same evil direction as their brother Pestilence. BUT the problem is that the story of the next book — that involving Death — began in this book and it was simply much more interesting to me. I couldn’t bring myself to care that much about Limos because all I wanted to do was hurry up and get to the next book!
Wanting to rush to the next book in a series isn’t exactly a dig, but I wish I could have enjoyed this one more for its own story. I was just too distracted by events I found much more intriguing.
