Review: The Haunting of Hill House (2018 Series)

Finished Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House today and…I really liked it!

I’m not usually into horror, but I happened to have seen the movie version when I was younger and found it to be better than average. Plus it’s Halloween tomorrow so in the spirit of the season, why not give it a try?

I was hooked in the first episode, but then things got better. The feel here is subtle, psychological, and the story is built heavily upon relationships and character. Hey, that’s my favorite kind of story! 🙂

This series seems to be getting high ratings from critics and users alike, and it deserves it. The story-telling was phenomenal, the actors all excellent. The story was told out of chronological order, which usually drives me batty, but worked exceptionally well in this instance and was even used to great effect.

I recommend this one, even if you’re only sometimes into horror. This would be the right exception to make. 🙂
