I haven’t forgotten…

I haven’t forgotten to update you about my novel, but I fear there is precious little to say. I have word from Twilight Times that the novel is almost ready to go to the editor, who was busy on another project until just recently. I hope things will move along at this point and that I will have much more to tell you about the publishing process soon.

Birthday presents

My birthday is right around the corner and this year I received a great present from my parents — the Scooba from iRobot. This little saucer robot, twin to the Roomba, mops the kitchen floor for me better than I can mop it myself. My kitchen floor has never been so clean!

Summer’s Coming

I love summertime. My baby is almost six months old now, so he and I are taking daily walks (as long as it’s not raining). We go to the little park just down the way or swoop around the block.

One of the things I am enjoying about summertime, now that I have a baby, are garage sales. Even discount stores like Wal-Mart don’t sell new toys for less than $20…more if it sings or flashes. I almost despaired before I noticed the signs and the buckets full of $1 items. Now we’re pretty well stocked. I just need a rubber ducky.

The other thing I love about summer is the pool. I have loved to swim for as long as I can remember and I intend to take my baby to the pool with me as soon as it is warm enough. Even better than the pool, of course, is the water park. Last summer I decided to skip the water park since I was pregnant, so I have to make up for it double this year!

But the best thing about summer is the people. They all come outside again. It’s a chance to meet new neighbors, and become reacquainted with old ones.

I’m off to play outside.
